The article presents global public health news briefs on topics including the importance of obtaining accurate mortality statistics in the wake of a disaster such as Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The predictors of women's breast self-examination (BSE) are examined, along with breast cancer mortality prevention, various causes of death in a homeless population in the Netherlands, and the sociodemographic determinants of body mass index in Nigerian children.
